Gratitude Vietnam
The Hoi An chapter
A retreat home remembered with love.
A foundation for everything that comes next.
Gratitude Vietnam was an intimate retreat home in Hoi An, created to offer rest, reflection, mindful practice and genuine care.
Between 2019 and 2021, it welcomed guests, retreat leaders and practitioners into a peaceful space for yoga, meditation, Reiki, sound healing, nourishing food, community and deep personal restoration.
The retreat is no longer operating in Vietnam. This site now remains as a legacy archive: a place to honour what was created, share the guest reflections that shaped the journey, and point towards the next chapter of Gratitude in Costa Rica.

What Gratitude Vietnam was
Gratitude Vietnam was a home-from-home retreat space on Cam Nam island in Hoi An. It brought together simple comforts, thoughtful hospitality, mindful movement, meditation, healing practices, locally inspired food and space to pause.
Guests came for rest, yoga, Reiki training, sound healing, reflection, personal transition and reconnection. Many left describing the same things: feeling safe, welcomed, nourished, unhurried and deeply cared for.

Why it closed
Like many small retreat and hospitality projects, Gratitude Vietnam was deeply affected by the pandemic and the changes that followed. The Hoi An retreat closed, but the experience did not disappear.
It became a teacher.
It showed what kind of space people long for. It showed the importance of care, rhythm, beauty, nourishment, community, ethical tourism and genuine welcome. It also revealed the practical realities of building and sustaining a retreat business with integrity.

What continues
The Vietnam chapter continues to shape the future of Gratitude. Its lessons now inform Gratitude Costa Rica: a developing vision for a nature-based retreat and restoration space rooted in care for people, land, learning and community.
Gratitude Costa Rica is not a copy of Gratitude Vietnam. It is the next expression of the same values.
